How to avoid "Dangerous Oil"?

持続可能なパーム油のための円卓会議(Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil:RSPO)とパーム油革新グループ(Palm Oil Innovation Group:POIG)

The Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was established in 2004 in response to a growing global call for sustainable palm oil that takes into account its environmental impact. Although the RSPO has strengthened its standards and implementation system, it does not have general provisions for natural forest protection to deal with deforestation, has weak provisions for peatland conservation, and is inadequate to deal with social issues such as human rights violations, Dangerous oil" cannot be avoided. The Palm Oil Innovation Group (POIG) was launched in 2013 to add standards to the RSPO to achieve "responsible palm oil," and POIG requirements are being developed by NGOs and the RSPO member palm oil industry.。

Objectives of the POIG Charter

To promote and support innovation and improvements in oil palm plantation and extraction mill management and throughout the supply chain on a range of environmental, social, supply chain and governance issues, and seek to have the innovations rolled out across the palm oil industry and reflected in the RSPO standard

To create added value for innovative and progressive producers and supply chain partners through increased market recognition and demand for palm oil products from innovative and improved practices

To act as a forum for open discussion and sharing of experience with innovations and improvements in: oil palm plantation practices, extraction mill management practices, responsible procurement, and product traceability and verification throughout the supply chain

To act as a forum to collectively engage with governments towards achieving recognition and support for innovations, and have them included in regulations and law

The Palm Oil Innovation Group (POIG) is required to strengthen its commitment to socially and environmentally responsible palm oil production by focusing on three pillars: environmental stewardship, community partnerships, and corporate and product integrity. By certifying that all palm oil products conform to RSPO principles and standards, and by demonstrating compliance with requirements through third-party verification, we can terminate our relationship with issues such as deforestation and human rights abuses.
